The ARCs for ROCAMORA, my historical novel set in 17th centruy Spain and Amsterdam go out this week.

We shall see if any of the big reviewers will condescend to give space to a new small independent.

It is truly a Darwinian struggle for existence, given that the L.A. TIMES receives seven hundred books a week to review, smaller newspapers several hundred, and most of the rest cannibalizing from already published reviews.

And so, the adventure begins.

Well, Donroc - we're in the same boat - the review copies for 16-3-3, early Ohio, published by a small independent, should be winging their way to reviewers as we speak. It will be interesting to see whether there are any reviews other than maybe from Ohio. Good luck to you. Puma

The notion of those ARCs of mine jostling for position amongst the established big name hardcover books was a bit daunting, and so the PW review is encouraging.

Good luck to you all. Mine go out next month, but I'm asking for several to be sent to reader review sites as well, and I've sent a couple marked unedited on my own. One review so far. It got rated an Outstanding Read, but they didn't seem to know what to say and started out with "Not for the faint of heart." Ouch!
