I found this site quite by accident, looking up some random writing fact that I couldn't recall off the top of my head for a friend, but decided to join anyways.
I've been writing for most of my life, I can safely say but didn't consider taking my writing seriously until about six years ago, when my teacher told me that if I worked hard enough I could be a published author.
I'm currently working on two novels, and have several others started but unfortunately I can never seem to finish them. (I have terrible grammar, I know, so feel free to correct me at anytime.) Ideally, I'd like to make a pretty decent living off writing, and not have to worry about being stuck with a career that I don't like, but we'll see about that.
