I've got stuff as old as second grade. That's the stuff that's fun to look back on.
You too? I still have what I believe is the first story I ever wrote, when I was about nine years old. That would have been circa 1964. A few years ago my brother was digging through the mounds of boxes he stored in his basement after our dad passed away and he came across a bunch of stuff of mine from back then and sent it out to me. What a guy. I laughed myself silly for days.
I also have a bunch of stuff I wrote years later using orange paper on this old portable manual typewriter. More guffaws there, that's for sure.
As for stuff I've written on the computer: I have everything I've ever done, and will not delete it for any reason whatsoever.
If nothing else, my daughter and her kids will have these things as a memento after I'm gone.
I did. We weren't all lucky enough to own computers at the age of 12. I didn't have one 'til I was about 26 or 27.
Computers, other than huge room-sized behemoths, didn't exist when I was twelve. I had to make do with a pencil and piece of paper. Oh, the hardships!
