I found this site & forum after reading Jenna's book "How to Make a REAL LIVING..." I'm trying to get back into writing - short stories, nonfiction essays, whatever. Mainly I'm trying to shock my brain back to life after letting it atrophy for the past 10 years, ever since I ceased being "me" and started being "___'s mom", LOL. I'm looking forward to reading other posts and checking out the exercises.

:hi:

[Pokes dochas with a stick.] Wake up! Time to write!

Not really, but I'm remembering a former member of my critique group (she moved away) who got up 6 days a week at 5:00 to write for one uninterrupted hour. I'm not crazy enough to think that would work for everyone. I'd sit there in a stupor for the whole hour, I suspect. But I hope you can find a way to carve yourself some little chunks of you-time during which you write, or think about what you're writing, without being interruptable for mommy-business.

Nice to meet you.

Maryn, sorry about the stick

Hi and welcome :) I've been trying to get started on my own writing for the last 20 years and starting to produce some little bits now... The flash fiction prompt on Sunday night (you don't have to write then but its all explained under the games and prompts heading) is a good way to get your brain working. I just froze the first time I tried but even though I didn't write for that one it got me started thinking well, like a writer. Anyway good luck on your quest and see you round the boards :)
