Literary agents

Hi everyone,
I'm not only a newbie to this forum, I'm also a newbie to the literary world. I've finished my first children's book last year and am looking for an agent to represent me. I haven't had any luck with publishers. I do realize that hundreds of rejections should be expected but I didn't expect to have the same fate with agents. I'm wondering if any of you have heard of Stillwater Literary Agency. The last agency that wanted to see my work was a scam.

It's nice being on board with all of you!!!

hey star, welcome. Check out the Share Your Work board here, and run your query letter past the folks there. I'm willing to bet that's a part of the problem -- and I say that because not only was it my problem (and I have an agent now thanks to the fine people here on the boards), but it seems most everyone needs a couple or couple dozen eyes on their query before it goes out.
