This blog has lots of good information, especially in terms of what they want to see (and not what they don't want to see). Thanks for sharing! I'm off to take notes...

Glad they want middle grade fiction. Here's hoping they want MY middle grade fiction. Kristen has a great blog. I don't check it as often as I should. I didn't realize that she repped middle grade. I knew she did YA.

"Boy middle grade ANYTHING" is the least represented genre among Newbery honors and award winners, as well as in the pages of the major review journals.

Are times changing?

I thought the same thing. Pick me, pick me!

Do you know what agency she works for?

Kristen runs her own agency.

If nothing else, this article inspires me to get crackin' on my MG historical mystery with boys as main characters. I've left Luca and Braxas alone for way too long, need to brush 'em off so I can send them to Kristen!

Everything has it's season. Middle grade boy may not be winning the awards (yet), but Harry Potter has certainly shown the publishers that it can sell.

Yippee. I just finished my YA paranormal that has a psychological thriller twist. Now, I've got to get started polishing it to send it out. Thanks for the link.

Well now I know where my first submission should go. It's time to get off my duff and finish polishing my novel (MG boy SF). I had some great ideas about it and am planning to really dive in over the next few weeks. . .hope to start querying by May or June at the latest.

Thanks for the heads up.

Eric
