Thanks Siddow! That was really interesting! I really enjoyed the Top 10 Myths, just because those sorts of myths always get me really frustrated. It's odd. Even though people acknowledge that writing for kids is really hard, you still don't get the same sort of respect as writing grown up literature. Grr.

This is a great resource. Thanks for passing it on.

It should be required reading for many. Particularly those people I encounter (almost daily) that believe many of them.

Thanks for both links, Siddow and badducky.

Some of those markets are new to me and reading through them I could identify stories of mine that just might be a fit.

As for the myths... I've encountered people who believe all of them... most especially this one:

10. Writing for kids is easy and a good way to get rich quick.

And usually from the same people who used to ask me when I was going to start writing important stuff. Sigh.

She forgot Myth No. 11: Celebrities, politicians and convicted felons (pardon the triple redundancy) are subject to the same submission and literary standards as everyone else. THERE IS NO FAVORITISM IN CHILDREN'S BOOK PUBLISHING! THE STORY IS ALL THAT MATTERS!
