I was obsessively reading "The Learn Writing with Uncle Jim thread" and so I decided to sign up and join the community. I started writing back in kindergarten, but didn't like until like 4 years ago. Still I didn't attempt anything with it until mid-November of this year (I'm 17 now btw, senior in high school.) I used NaNoWriMo as an excuse to get my Butt In Chair and I wrote a 52'000 word mess, in 17 days I might add, that almost resembles a novelette with too much detail.
I got all excited in December and then ran away from it. I came back this month to discover how awful it truly is. But a lot of people say their first draft is awful so I haven't given up quiet yet.
