I realize I'm about to break yet another screenwriting rule, but...and sure I can stop myself or even go back and edit this...but

I'm thinking of just writing:

SHOPPING MONTAGE

And then just sort of noting what happens in that series of quick cuts or whatever the screenwriting term might be.

Well...I'm sure you CANNOT use the word 'MONTAGE'...but what is the
screenwriting equivalent of the cinematic term? Sequence?

Quick-cuts, multicuts ABCDEFGH 123456 (as in Young Frankenstien)? I cannot imagine.

Uh, yeah you can. I would strongly not having "SHOPPING MONTAGE" though. Just MONTAGE would be fine.

To avoid the cliched "montage" thing, I like to use "Intercut Sequence".

It doesn't remove the cliche', but at least it reads better. :)

i heard if you type 'montage' into a doc using final draft, it turns your computer into a huge scorpion who stings you in the throat and then slaps you around, 3 stooges style, with its tail.

does anyone know if it's true? i'm too scared to try.

Montage. You can use montage.

A montage is when you have a series of fluid shots that are work together to render the experience of something.

A SERIES OF SHOTS are a series of separate shots that are related (preferably) but also stand alone. Often A SERIES OF SHOTS is used when it is a series of jump cuts.
