we still need to see things the way they truly are.
True! Start here:
i don't see anyone getting mad and no need to call us retards. especially from someone actually defending uwe boll.
What? When did I defend Uwe Boll? I never said there was anything good about Uwe Boll's movies. I said I, personally, like them. I said he marketed them well, and pushed people's buttons effectively, but that's like saying somebody tells really good lies.
Oh noes, a simile! Run!
unfortunately, boll doesn't quite measure up to being a good bad movie-maker.
"We still need to see things the way they truly are." I did not say that Uwe Boll is a good movie-maker. I said he markets well. Apples, oranges, famous potatoes.
and you aver that somewhere in this contempt we're supposed to find the meaning of fun, that 'it has worth if for no other reason than it's entertaining.'
No, no, no. "We still need to see things the way they truly are."
I did not say that. Nobody here said that. You made it up. I did not "aver" that anyone
else is supposed to find
anything.
I just stated outright that I like Uwe Boll's movies. That's it! That's all!
I like them. What should
you think? Why, whatever the hell you want. I
don't care.
let me clue you in: we're not the suckers here, you are
Or so
you think, holding me in sufficient contempt to blatantly tell outright lies about what I said. To
me, the very
authority on what I said. But I caught you. More than once, in fact. "We still need to see things the way they truly are."
uwe boll *isn't* as terrible a writer/producer/director as he wants you to believe.
"We still need to see things the way they truly are." I never said he was. I said the movies are bad, not that he couldn't do any better. And I never said they were good because they're bad. I said
I like them.
You can think whatever you want of them.
think to oneself that after all his experience this is the best he's able to do.
But that's not the case. Remember? "Uwe Boll *isn't* as terrible a writer/producer/director as he wants you to believe." This isn't the best he's able to do. It's just what he does. "We still need to see things the way they truly are."
I like it. I don't care why he does it, although some people care
an awful lot.
like i said, this is how he makes money, and this is the brand of contempt he has for you.
You know, maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see much evidence of "contempt" in the consistent and reliable production of things I like. "We still need to see things the way they truly are."
but, if you enjoy boll flicks as much as you claim, perhaps you could whip yourself with your belt while you're at it
No, no, NO. You have to get someone
else to do the whipping, so you can concentrate on the movie. Preferably in a suspension harness.
i'm congratulating myself on not using any similes.
"We still need to see things the way they truly are."
Do you see the irony in that sentence? I keep quoting it. Seeing things the way they truly are means not inventing your own arguments that you wish other people said, so you could say something condescending and look important on the internet. It means responding to things people actually said, with things that are actually true.
It does
not mean avoiding simile. That's like refusing to use metaphor.
You can't really argue with my position on Uwe Boll's movies, because it has nothing to do with you or with Uwe Boll or with the entertainment industry. My position is that I like Uwe Boll's movies. Not that he has some redeeming quality you can't see, or that the movies fall into some special category you don't appreciate, or that your failure to like them is somehow incorrect. I just like them. What's to argue?
If you don't like them,
and you knowingly watch them
anyway,
and you then get
angry about it - you're a retard. Want to argue with that? Feel free. But notice the word in bold up there? It means something. If you don't understand what, go home.
