Prayer Request

Would you guys please remember my mother in your prayers? She got really sick yesterday while driving and almost passed out. She has a doctor's appointment next week (although I tried to convince her she needed to go to the doctor sooner) to make sure that it's not anything heart related since she did have some numbness in one side of her body when it happened.

I really don't want to scare you, but numbness on one side of the body and loss of consciousness could be a precursor to something very serious and I hope that you can convince her to go see the doctor sooner (and I hope you can convince her not to drive in the meantime, just in case it happens again). The body has a way of giving warnings--a lot of them not very subtle--when things aren't right, but I'm sure you already know this

Mothers can be so stubborn!

Thanks so much guys and gals! =) Hugs all around. Finally got mom to go to the doctor and they did some blood work first to see if that shows anything. If not, they may do a stress test on her heart just to be safe. Will keep you guys posted.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you guys. It has just been so crazy around here lately. I may be moving my family across the country for my ministry job. Plus, our dog of 18 years died last week . . . It's just been madness here.

Thanks for the prayers guys and gals. Don't know what I'd do without my AW friends! =)

Praying for you and mom.
I agree with BlackViolet, one-sided numbness is usually an indication of a stroke. There's also a small, passing stroke (forget what they call it) that a person recovers from in a few hours or days. Do let her ignore this, get mean if you have to.

TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack). They are often (but certainly not always) precursors of a major stroke. But if she's seen a doctor, they should already be watching this.

Thanks guys. They did some kind of response test where they asked her to use her eyes to follow objects and then had her stand in different positions. They are keeping a check on her and she will be going back to the doctor next week. I will let you guys know what they say. I appreciate your prayers so much. Please know that I am returning the favor and praying for all my AW friends . . . as always.
