I am stuck on the story that I'm working on, so I've been thinking of having some primary accounts on the subject matter - reunion

Have you ever lost a dear friend or family member, only to find them again many years later? Should I talk about my own experience first?

I didn't exactly lose a family member and find her again, but my whole family just found out last year that we have a relative in Germany we didn't know we had--my great-uncle apparently kept his illegitimate child a secret from everyone. But she found us after 40 years of not knowing who her father was, and we're happy to have her in the family.

Where are you stuck in your story, Exir? You might get a few more replies if you shed a little more light on your story. :) And go ahead and share your own experience.

When I was growing up I was part of a group of 10 or 12 boys who were friends from kindergarten/first grade. We were all pretty close and did everything together. One of the kids named mike moved away about the sixth grade and we all lost contact with him.
About 7 years later I was stationed in Korea with the Army. I was in Yongsan, walking out of a bar when I bumped into a guy. He looked up at me and we both said sorry at the same time. I realized it was my friend Mike I hadnt seen in all those years. We managed to stay in contact while we were in country, but when I left we kind of lost contact again.

My Dad is an American-Iranian, and about 30 years ago while he was studying in the US, the Islamic Revolution took place, and he was stripped of his Iranian nationality due to his religion (He was a Baha'i, not a Muslim). The same thing happened within Iran - my uncles and aunts were discriminated against due to their religion, and were stripped of many privileges such as the ability to leave the country. So he was separated from his family for 21 years. They met again 4 years ago after a lot of efforts. I was then 10 years old
