I'm not sure if this is the greatest place for this thread.

I am doing a little research for an interview I have tomorrow with Dr. Yvonne Thornton on her amazing memoir, The Ditchdigger's Daughters. (An absolutely phenomenal and inspirational read -- and I get to talk to her TOMORROW!) Anyway, I'm doing a little supplemental research and I want to know if there's an easy way to find out if and how long a book appeared on The NYTimes Bestseller List?

Heck, I don't even read the NT times -- we can't get it here. They only deliver in Darwin, Mount Isa, and Humpty Doo.

I'd guess most of their bestseller list is footy players' memoirs and bush poetry.

Hmmm - actually, that sounds like a proper read!

Aaaaaaghhhhh - I clicked on your response which such hope. I'm sure the book was on the list, I just don't know for how long or when exactly.

Eh well, if I can't find it, I'll just leave it out.

Have you contacted the publisher?

If you could somehow contact the publisher or the publisher's/author's PR I'm sure they would have that info.

Yeah, I'll try to do that in the morning. I didn't think about adding that to my intro spiel until today. And the interview is at 11am tomorrow. You know, I could probably just ask her before we start. I'll bet she knows!

the best thing to do in times like this is to just make up a number and hope for the best.

Did you try doing a search on their website? I've checked for friends' books that way in the past. Just don't remember off the top of my head how complicated it was--but it can't be that bad. I mean, I'm a technophobe and I figured it out.

Give it a try.

Good luck and have fun with your interview.

Thanks guys! Yes, I searched The NYTimes archives and came up with a couple of interesting articles, but no mention of how long it may have stayed on their list.

It's okay, I just thought maybe someone had run across a listing somewhere of such things.
