To mod the poets
takes diligence and tact.
Some of them will force
a rhyme before it's time,
while others tend to hack
into a metaphor's
delicate dura. Or they whine
on and on, spilling tears
and beers enough to fill a bucket
hoping, out of pity you let stand
the poem they've titled, "Oh, Fuck it!"

Whew! I really had to work hard on that closing rhyme!!!
