I keep missing posts in the various threads. What are the latest on:
  • Brookie and the job/move/dad situation
  • Mark moving to Taiwan
  • Kev moving from Taiwan
  • PlotDevice fixing up mom's house
  • Lily's agent
  • And did SimpleLiving finally move to the country and disconnect from the internet?
  • Is Sean still looking at moving?
  • Anybody making progress with their agent/publisher?
  • Did everyone have a nice Easter?

Last one first: Yes--good travelling weather (we visited my folks in their new apartment).

Did YOU have a good Easter, III?

As for the others, I can answer 2 in one: My agent told me she likes vampire novels, which is great, since I'm writing one. Because of that, I learned about an acquaintance's 3-book horror deal, which (skipping a few steps) got the acquaintance's editor to request my thriller full before my agent got all the way through her phone pitch. (yay, with fear and trembling)

Now I'm deep into the psyche of a vampire who makes chainsaw sculptures.

Yep, we had a lovely and relaxing Easter. I played guitar in church (like every week) and we had my sister and her husband over for lunch (I grilled world-class steaks). We played with the kids and I did some writing at Starbucks with a buddy at night. I feel like I'm finally back on track with my manuscript. But now I can't get the picture of a chainsaw-weilding vampire out of my head!

Nosy!

Just kidding! :D

Still waiting to hear from Hartline on A Prophet's Tale.

A cool thing just happened, though. My customer counterpart (read: government boss) just stopped by my desk and said he picked up a copy of Ben Amittai over the weekend. One more toward my millionth copy sold...

Great Easter. Lots of grandkids climbing on top of me. I try to be intimidating and mean, but, I guess it ain't sellin'. :)

Great thread, III. I was wondering many of the same things... has anyone seen Keith around lately?

We had a quiet Easter, very nice, and a loud and fun Purim as well. Not a vampire in sight, chainsaw wielding or otherwise. :)

Not on your list, but I will chime in--very quiet Easter here--dh is recovering from bladder surgery last Thursday. If you think of it, pray for negative biopsy results!

Like you, I'm dying to know how Brookie is doing. I still pray for Kev when I see the post.

We had a nice Easter...quiet and relaxed. We sponsored three girls from my wife's bible study group and they were baptized on Saturday night. (Easter Vigil...the traditional time for baptism.) It was great seeing them so excited.

Our Easter dinner was a frozen pizza and we spent the afternoon doing final edits before sending my manuscript back to the agent for submissions. Tomorrow I start-in on a Mainstream novel of mine that she's also interested in seeing. When I send it off, I'll try to go pick up my half-finished sequel to the first mentioned book.

Alhtough I wasn't entirely satisfied with my Lenten devotions, I found that writing biblical novels has definitely deepened my understanding of, and appreciation for, the Church. All-in-all, the day couldn't have been better.

Well Howdy folks,

I did post in my "will you pray for me" thread but i will share here too.

Easter fairly busy. Meeting on Good friday then out to meet a friend.
Sat Emergency meeting with a friend who is having some serious relationship problems.
Sun: Church and rearranging the whole church. We are renovating the building so this sunday everything was moved into a different room!! WAH! Then the kids had their easter egg hurt at church.

Moving:
The next few jobs (about 5) i will hear something end of April or in May. SO playing the waiting game AGAIN!!!! However I am in better spirits but still haven't got a clue what is happening or where, when I am supposed to do it!!!!

You know that i write the Christian short stories, well in April I will begin to write them (all the stories) as TV scripts. That is my next major project. Now i am planning the stories into scripts and making contacts with investors and production Co's. PLEASE PRAY for this venture.

Kev

Mark is indeed going to Taiwan. He tried to post it earlier today, but couldn't find the forum. (? Maybe the server was down when he tried.)

And I had a great Easter, even if it meant a return to the land of ice and snow.

Easter was good... it was busy but good. :)
and yes, I should have my contract in hand shortly, so it would
appear that I will be in Taiwan sometime next week.

So, things are a little chaotic here at the moment. :)

I'd love to, Kev, but that's like a four hour drive from Texas isn't it? Taiwan borders Oklahoma, right?

Okay, Kev, I suppose you're going to tell us that was a typo, huh? I mean, this was just way too Freudian. You're really against these things aren't you? C'mon, c'mon, fess up. :D

When I do stuff i do it to the extreme. No kids gloves with our easter. We are talking about real death and rez experience for the kids. When we talk about meeting Jesus we don't want any lack here, know what i mean!!!

Weeeellll I received my passport yesterday....
But it does not appear that I shall be visiting Asia after all.
*sigh*

I'm afraid I don't do change, this fast, very well anymore.
One of the companies involved kept dragging their feet for reasons
unknown, and a local (by Texas standards) factory offered me a job.
So I took it rather than wait for the willow-wisp that was eluding me.

I'm sorry Kev, I really was looking forward to meeting you.

Mark

Hey gang! Dh's doc said he won't have to do treatments--just a procedure to look at the bladder every 3 months for a year and a half! (in case the tumors come back).

Thanks to all who prayed!!

That is so good to hear!

My news: I will become a mother-in-law at the end of May. I have been informed that I'm not a scary mother-in-law. I will have to work on that.
