that mitten state.
I've never written a spoof but a friend of mine got me started on this wild hair of an idea. CSI Miami gets called to the land of Oz to investigate the possible serial killings of witches there. We're spoofing the whole show but mostly David Caruso's character.

Is there special way to write action lines that depict the Lt. Caine character (albeit over the top) without giving directions in the action lines?

I'm not a scriptwriter, so this might be wrong, but I think that what you're referring to would be considered as directions for the actor playing Caine, and as such wouldn't be necessary or wanted. Any actor spoofing David Caruso's style would know about the hands on waist, taking off sunglasses, looking over the shoulder etc. and would have got it down pat as part of their preparation. In the script, you'd provide the lines and any establishing information, and let the director and actor take that and work with it.

Just my opinion, since you're spoofing, for the script reader to "get it" and visualize it, I'd suggest you include these character-defining actions and gestures throughout, along with the qualifier, "...à la Horatio Caine." You don't need this so much with the dialogue, which is pretty much going to define itself. I guess we just have to follow the Yellow Brick Road, Eric. / Miss Duquesne, any update on cause of death? -Well I'm still waiting on the lab reports but judging from trajectory and blood spatter, a house fell on her. :) Good luck with it.

Hate to resurrect an old thread, but whatever happened to this script? Cause I'd pay good money to see this movie.

It's like those Scary Movie/Meet the Spartans spoofs except...good.
