Anyone familiar with this program? The no-residency, online MFA Creative Writing program sounds great. And compared to many schools, the price isn't too steep. I'm interested in teaching at the college level and am very interested in applying soon. Just wanted to make sure there weren't any horror stories attached to what seems like a new program.

If you're interested in teaching, a degree from an accredited school with a good reputation may make the difference in a competitive academic job market. Reputation is important if you want to teach.

And a PhD is almost necessary these days - especially if you want to be on staff rather than an adjunct. I say almost, because there are a rare job or two that will accept just a MA or MFA.
Gawd... who would bother getting a PhD (research) degree in Creative Writing, of all things? That seems like such an antithesis to writing.
