Could someone tell me how to put lines through existing words and sentences when critiquing? Thank you.

1. Click the Quote button.
2. Select the text you want to strike out/draw lines through.
3. Click the icon at the top of the posting window that looks like ABC with a line through it.

If you're using Word, you can set it to track revisions. That feature is under Tools/Track Changes/Highlight Changes. Then it will automatically strike out whatever you delete and show what you've added in a different color.

FWIW, when you're critiquing at AW, you can create strikeouts by putting the letter "s" (without the quotation marks) inside brackets, and end the strikeout with "/s" inside brackets. Make sure there are no spaces inside the brackets.

So [ s]strike this out[ /s] becomes strike this out.

Maryn, hoping this helps

Thank you Maryn, This certainly does help. I can see how all these methods can be used for different reasons. I have already used the first two, now I'll have a practice with you're version. Hmm I wonder who the poor victim will be. I am learning how to critique.

Thanks alot. I love this forum. You people are unreal.

Beware of colours - some are very hard to make out and read.
