Greetings All,
Okay, I've been looking at various threads and done various searches and just pounded through my Writer's Market and another book on writing articles, and I cannot find an answer to what (I fear) is an incredibly elementary question. I am a fledgling magazine article writer.
I get the point of sending a query for an article idea. In fact I have two ideas brewing for which I am currently identifying my target publications. However, I have some awesome ideas for personal essays (my strongest writing), and my question is: Do you need to do a query letter for a personal essay?? There, I've said it, my ignorance is typed out for you all to see! I just honestly do not know whether it is appropriate to query a publisher on the topic, or to submit it like a manuscript, although it is not something manuscript length.
Please!! Your input will be most appreciated!!
Thank you!
