Cover Art! YAY! And Cool News! Double YAY!

I just got this! :hooray:

I'm really, really, really happy with it. And I feel just a little bit stunned because it's my first ever. And there it is--my book with my name on it. Wow.

Also--I just learned that Dorchester is planning to release my second book in January of '09. Just four months after the first. WOO HOO!!! I'm hoping all four in the series are released back to back, but only the first two are currently under contract so it's a wait and see thing.

Okay, done with too much caffeine and excitment babble.

Here's the art. Hope I didn't screw it up resizing and downloading. I'm still a novice in that area.

Very striking cover! It should do very well on the shelf. CONGRATS!

For bookmarks, I tend to use Earthly Charms. Whether you design and just have them print them, or pay the small amount extra for them to design it, they do a great job, and pretty cheaply too. I know lots of people (myself included) who have been very happy with them.

http://www.getzcolor.com/ - I've always had good experiences with them. Once they messed up -- but they made it right, quickly. They do very nice work.

I keep trying to work on my edits, and I keep running back to the computer like every twenty minutes, just to look at the cover. I can't help it! It's so purdy. And I'm such a freak.

My husband and son had that made for me, I think at Staples or something. It's foamboard. I have it up on the wall in my office.

That first cover is always pure magic. (The others are always exciting, too, but hey, you only get your first cover ONCE! <G>)

I've only looked at it maybe a half dozen times today. I'm improving.

Susan, I have got to try that. But it'll have to wait until I have a bigger office. Right now, it's either a nook in my studio, or just wherever I happen to be seated. I'm pretty sure the local coffee shop wouldn't appreciate the additional art.
