Would emailing an agent under these circumstances be bad form?

I got a request for a partial, which I uploaded via the agent's online database. It seemed to take an awfully long time, but it also seemed to go through.

Other people who uploaded their manuscripts mentioned getting a confirmation email that said their upload was successful. I didn't get one. Checked my spam folder--nada. I also can't remember if the message that was on the screen after I uploaded my document was the same as the other authors'.

Would I be an idiot to email and ask if it went through? I know how busy agents are, and I don't want to damage a potential relationship by seeming needy. It's only been around a month since I sent it. On the other hand, if it never got to said agent, isn't it better to know now rather than waiting six months or so to status query?

Help!

I see no problem with a quick 'did you get it?' e-mail

I agree. Just make sure you let them know you didn't recieve a confirmation e-mail so you don't look like a paranoid pest. :)

I had the same issue about a year ago with an upload. I e-mailed the agent and while they had recieved it, there was an issue with their website and they weren't aware of it.

Five of the agents that I queried today required book proposals with a query. So I sent the five of them off but I also paid 65 cents for each one to verify that they were delivered. Verifying that your stuff got there is a good idea.
