I think your friend means, make sure you tell people that the characters you've created would do very well as toys, games, t-shirts, mouse pads, coffee mugs etc. Because an extortionate amount of money is generated through the successful merchandising of a box office hit, it could be a motivating factor for someone to come aboard as a financier. Your script still needs to be good obviously but I think your friend is saying there's no harm in mentioning that you feel the revenue potential for plastic versions of your characters is high.
I'm not sure I agree. If the script is good and speaks for itself, these Hollywood types are pretty savvy about recognising ancilliary money-making revenues. It depends what it is you're doing. More detail about what it is you're preparing, what kind of company it's going to and for what reason would be useful.
