I notice that newspapers have a very quick response time to their op-ed pages, usually about a week. We all know that in the publishing field, this is extremely fast. I'm wondering why that is. Could it be that they are dailies and thus must work on a more deadline-driven schedule? Do they not receive as many submissions as major magazines? Does cost have anything to do with it or the fact that they publish far more pieces than other mediums? Any suggestions?
