Herbie Hancock won Album of the Year with a gorgeous album called River: The Joni Letters which is an incredible series of his interpretations of songs by a forum favorite Joni Mitchell:
On the CD (filled with talented folks) are

Edith and the Kingpin featuring Tina Turner
Both Sides Now
River featuring Corinne Baily Rae
Sweet Bird
Tea Leaf Prophecy featuring Joni Mitchell
Solitude (not a Joni piece)
Amelia featuring Luciana Souza
Nefertiti (not a Joni piece)
The Jungle Line Featuring Leonard Cohen
The ensemble for those that care is: Herbie Hancock (Piano) Wayne Shorter (soprano and tenor sax) DAve Holland (Bass) Vinnie Colaiuta (Drums) Linoel Loueke (Guitar)
I can't recommend it highly enough--I ran out to the first outlet I could find and blew almost $20 bucks on it, but I know it can be had cheaply.
If you enjoy Hancock and Joni seperately, I think you'll love this CD something fierce.
