With the family's struggling ranch and his dignity at stake, Dan must escort ornery varmint Ben Wade, who is equally at home drawing with Remingtons and No. 2 pencils, to justice.

The theme here is lead.

Highly recommended.

I loved it. Wasn't fond of the ending but the rest of the movie made up for that.

SPOILERS IN WHITE: The ending is definitely where it all falls apart for me, the gunslinger's motivation was ... what? I mean, it's so good up to THEN, but then ...

I understand that he's making a noble gesture, to get on the train and not humiliate the farmer in his son's eyes (okay, that's almost unbelievable, but I'll allow it, Fiction and Drama and all) ...

But where is this man's "nobility" as he guns down the men from his gang who've risked their own lives to SAVE HIM? He comments that he's escaped Yuma Prison before, but this time the Rail Road will HANG him.

Also, we're left with the idea that the Railroad will seddenly become honor-bound to PAY his son? The same RR that is stealing his farm? (Or in business with the guy stealing his farm) ...

I'd say, definitely watch it, enjoy it ... and use it as a writing-instruction to NEVER REPEAT the mistakes it makes at the rather ridiculous ending! :Soapbox:

I enjoyed it too, until the last 15 minutes or so.

I really thought they bungled the ending...it made the whole movie seem kind of pointless in retrospect.
