Good stuff! Interesting mix: 7 girl-boy; 2 boy-girl; 1 girl-baby; 1 girl-bike; 1 girl-sandwich; 1 girl-lunchmeat.

I want to congratulate all the entrants for their wonderful stories. They were great to read and some brought back some very good memories for me. :)

I also thought that a couple of them could be turned into novels and I hope that will be the case.

Good job everyone!!:hooray:

Wow! These are some really good contest entries. I particularly like the chess metaphor in "Check Mate." Good job!

Cheering you all on!
Hey, wynter, are you going to post an announcement for the rest of AW to know that there's a contest to vote on?

Nice job, everyone! Reading them was so fun.

They were all so good. It will be a hard decision. I'll have to read them again. I can't make up my mind. I've picked out 5 favourites, now I'll have to choose. I've already chosen the first one. It stood out to me. I loved the way it was written and the content of the story.

Good Luck everyone.

She's got it posted in the freelance forum. I've only read about half of them, and I'll probably have to re-read all of them to vote. If the second half is as good as the first half it'll be a tough decision.

Great writing everyone!

I really enjoyed reading all the stories with the different takes on "First Love". Very imaginative, poignant and funny. As someone said, they brought back lots of memories of my youth now that I'm the ripe old age of 48! Oh well, I'm still young at heart which is a nice way of saying I'm immature. :tongue

Glad you're all having fun with the entries, I thought they were all fabulous! :)

*Now, here's the rub. An ice storm is expected in my area tomorrow, my house is notorious for losing power 24 hours at a time when this happens and I expect it again tomorrow so I will post the winner as soon as possible.

That should be just fine, so long as you don't have to burn the ballots to keep warm. :)

We're supposed to get ice here too overnight, and this town "don't look good in (freezin') rain". Here's hoping you don't lose power and the sun shines soon. (Damn, it's hrd typpng wt crosed fimgrrs.)

Now that the voting is over I have a question I should have asked before.

When you submit to these contests is it permissible to vote for yourself?

Thanks.

I have nothing against voting for yourself, sometimes it makes the difference between first and second place. :) Each contest is different, however, so check the rules on the announcement for that forum.
