Anyone have any info on how long it usually is between an arrest and a trial for a murder case? Taking place in LA, that is...

That really depends a lot on the legal and political details of the case. Does the defendant have a good attorney...does the defendent have money? Are their political consequences related to the case. I'd certainly say that months to perhaps a year would not be unreasonable depending on the variables mentioned. It would depend on the legal strategies of the defense and prosecuting attorneys as well, as well as the case load of the judicial system.

Not political at all. But the defendant does have a good attorney. Would eight months be reasonable?
