Hey fellow AW denizens!

I'm looking for a beta reader for my middle-grade fantasy, Casey and the Prisoned Eight. It's about 60K words and needs a solid run-through. Here's a little bit about the book:

Life for twelve year old Casey Quinn is pretty tough these days. School is boring, his piano teacher scares him, and being on the swim team leaves little time for much else. But that’s not the hardest part. Casey is also learning to adjust to life without his father, who died six months ago. Casey’s method? Spending his free time at the library getting lost in his favorite books. But then one day Casey gets lost for real. He finds himself in another world entirely—a parallel world of dark forests, dangerous creatures, and deadly secrets. To survive, Casey must face angry spiders, soul-stealing wraiths, and a demented demon-witch intent on enslaving him for the rest of his days. And if that weren’t enough, Casey is pursued by a mysterious Man in Black, and must ultimately solve the ancient riddle of The Prisoned Eight if he is to ever return home.

The manuscript is just about finished; I'm on my second round of revisions and should be completed within the week. If you are interested, please let me know! I'd be happy to reciprocate at some point in the future.

Thanks!
Scott

I hope it's not inappropriate for me to reply to this message, but if you still need a beta, I'd be happy to read your ms. The story sounds delightful.

I'd be willing to do an exchange of favors. I have YA contemporary/urban fantasy type piece that needs a critical eye.

Btw, love the avatar and status line  (Just saw another Jeff Dunham show on Comedy Central last week)

No problem.

I've never beta-read such a large work before. The max has been 30K for an unfinished fantasy work.

I've read through and critiqued numerous shorter stories, though. If you still want me to look at your work, just tell me if you want to send it through PM or email.
