Okay folks, this one is a tad different. The discussions of poets here seems to be quite popular, and I'd like to continue it. However, since we don't want to tread on toes, and because Fair Use is a somewhat gray area, I've come up with a Grand Challenge:

Pick a poem from a contemporary poet.
Get permission to use the poem in this forum for the purpose of discussion.
Post the poem and the permission.

I got one for Neruda from the University of Texas Press. I'll work on the University of Nebraska for Ted Kooser's poem. Anyone else up for a challenge?? Come on, surely somebody wants to see that thread for Cummings go on a while longer...

I'm in . I know we're not currently on speaking terms Dawg, but I wanted to let you know that I emailed John Calvin Rezmerski for permission to use his poem "A Dream of Heredity" for discussion here, specifically as regards speculative poetry (Gray Rose and some others have expressed interest in this area). The poem won a Rhysling award for best short poem, 1986, as judged by the Science Fiction Poetry Association, and originally appeared in Tales of the Unanticipated, Fall, 1986.

Hopefully something will come of it.
