I'm looking for some names, if anyone here knows or remembers. I've googled a lot, but not much shows up.

I know about these authors:

Marilyn Campbell
Nancy Cane
Dara Joy
Pam Rock

...and I know Dorchester published quite a few, but I can't seem to find any extensive listings.

Any info would be welcome, thank you!

Johanna Lindsey published a few (Heart of a Warrior is one, I think?).

Sherrilyn Kenyon had a few hard to find books. I'm thinking, I'm thinking. I know there were more than just two but I'm drawing a blank at the moment.

Have you read Susan Grant? Also if you haven't, check out Dorchester's 2176 line. Heck, check out Dorchester, period.

Susan Krinard (StarCrossed--HIGHLY recommended, if you can find it)
Robin Owens (maybe 2000, can't remember, it was close)
Jayne Castle
Title: Warrior Moon (can't remember the author--totally fun)
Cherlyn Davis
There was a series with Sky Pirates, but can't remember authors or titles.

At least something for you.

Futuristic is a subgenre of Romance which is basically a Romance done as a Space Opera.

Any resemblence to real SF is purely coincidental.

In that case I suggest the Liaden series by Lee and Miller. It is space opera but with just a little actual sci fi too :)

Anne McCaffrey (noted SF author)'s books in the 80s usually had a strong romantic subplot. Check out especially her CRYSTAL SINGER trilogy.

You do know that Anne McCaffrey started her publishing career as a Genre Romance writer, right?

No, I didn't! But it makes sense, since all her SF books tend to have great romantic subplots.

Thanks to everyone who posted so far--this is really helpful. I guess I should clarify that I'm seeking lesser known authors, specifically those whose books first came out in the 80's/90's (e.g., contemporaries of Dara Joy, Pam Rock, etc.), and who were writing for the romance market (as opposed to SF with romantic elements). Hope that makes sense.

Thanks to a previous recommendation by Irysangel, I already knew about Lindsey, but forgot to add her to the list. Ditto veinglory's rec for Lee & Miller. Susan Grant's copyrights start in 2000, so for the purpose of my research, I'm not counting her for the 90's (unless the records I've seen online are way off!).

Just wanted to see if anyone knew names off the tops of their heads...I'm off to keep digging.

Here's a good link to get you started, Clara. Don't recognize any of the names, but they're in the time period and quite a few are from Dorchester, who pretty much started the books as a genre in the early 90s. Hope it helps!

Yep, definitely check out Dorchester. Look at Crimson City and 2176 for more recent 'series' type books. Dorchester has always been extremely open to SF romance.

Anne McCaffrey and the Liaden series are both awesome, but aren't quite the same as SF Romance. Those are SFs that have romance in them. Two different creatures entirely. *g*

color me blind, but I couldn't find anything about Dorchester's waaay backlist of these authors on it's site. I guess the info is scattered throughout the 'net other than the new releases. I will check out those two titles you mentioned, thanks!
