If he doesn't drop dead from that, I'll buy him a monkey.

I don't think I ought to enter because I'm not at a point where I can use any of the prizes (except the book, maybe)...but it looks like a lot of fun.

And he's definitely out of his mind. But we knew that already!

God knows I do too. Nathan's a real stand-up guy, from the impression I get--he seems like an awesome agent.

Now, about what I'll be entering... I'll try to make it funny, so he doesn't flicker his eyes shut by the time he gets to it. hehe.

If judging that contest isn't grounds for a homicidal rampage, I don't know what is. So I bet he's just looking for a way to slake his blood thirst. Clever.

I asked, and he said you can take a raincheck. Go for it :)

Awesome, thanks for posting that.

Yep, he's definitely out of his mind. Or he will be after this Wednesday.

I'm thoroughly impressed. Go Nathan!

Are there any copyright problem if you publish the first page of your book on the blog? Would that be considered publishing? I think that is why there is a password on the share your work forum.

I thought that was there to prevent ppl's WIPs from turning up on google (et al.) searches...

You beat me to posting about it, heh. I gave him the first page of my WIP this morning. Felt kind of guilty about it too.... But if he's as crazy as he seems nice, who am to NOT take advantage of it. :D

Don't follow where copyright comes into the equation.

But re jeopardising any future chances of publishing...

For one page?

No.

I doubt even three chapters or so would make any difference either.

In a critting forum it's far more than one page which is usually submitted -in some cases whole chapters or even novels. That's why the google bots are kept at bay by the password barrier.

I cleaned up the first page of an old novel that I'd tucked away and submitted it yesterday. :)

Wow...what a job that would be. I posted mine, but don't see it. Besides, I'm in the middle of a complete rewrite...including first page. hehe.

I had the first page of a novel rated like this once before. According to the agent and publisher, it was a hit. (That was Summer on Fire, Trishka.)

do the comments show newest at the top or newest at the bottom? Maybe the site is crashing? Thanks to Trish!

Crap. I posted mine twice. I deleted one of them. I hope that doesn't disqualify me or something? Oops...

I thought Curtis Brown had already rejected me, but it seems I missed them in my blitzkrieg of queries. Goodie!

GAH! I posted it and realized I have a typo in it. I have "carrying for your crops" instead of caring!

Dammit!

lol. I know nothing! I guess I subcribed to replies or something. I'm getting every post after mine in my inbox. I'll just read yours from there, Ray!

He already rejected mine too, so I'm not going to bother with posting the first page of it.
Perhaps I will just make one up.
