Yeah, the fat guy on the right hand side pretty much made my Hall of Fame for Fat Guy Musicians. He's right up there with the drummer from Y&T, All of Bachman Turner Overdrive and John Popper, the Early Years. Michael Anthony would be here, but he never really got past "husky."

In one way I'm kinda glad I never became a famous rocker, because there are old band shots I'm in that are every bit as embarrassing as those.

No, ain't sharing. :D

I got my guitar (es-335) years ago from a store where the owner bought it from a young woman who claimed it was originally owned by her father, who was one of BTO. I'm not sure if that's good karma or bad, but it's a great guitar.

Chunky, love those pants.

I know Charlie and Ray were separated at birth, but I'm wondering if I was a lost triplet. Here's a rare photo of me circa 1988. It's blurry, but I swear that picture of Charlie could have been me.

I want to see the pic of him wearing them TODAY!
Try inserting a watermelon into the pinky finger of a latex glove, it'd be a similar effect.

Those pants are, um, well, interesting! You are a brave man!

Is it just me, or do you look like you have to go pee in that photo?

And here I was thinking I was striking a cool guitar-god pose. ;)

Actually, I think I might have been risking an embolism trying to hit the high notes in Bryan Adams' "Lonely Night."

ETA: reminiscing about what I might have been singing in that photo got me thinking about when it was taken. In the interest of accuracy, it was actually 1983.

Nah. If you were trying to hit the high notes, you probably would've had that scrunchy I'm-gonna-eat-the-microphone face, right? ;)

Thank goodness I can hide behind my drum set. Fewer chances for embarrassing photos that way. :D

Hehe, unless you were the drummer I played with who, when we dressed up as an all girl band for halloween, wore a skirt and nylons.

No skivvies.

I turned around during the first tune and there were Big Willie and the Twins looking back at me, all flattened out by the nylons and lit up by the white lights shooting up from under his drum kit.

The best part was him wondering why all the girls dancing in front of the stage would burst into fits of giggling every time he caught their eye.

Of course, we didn't tell him. :D

In my head.
"Stuffing watermelon...Big Willie and the twins..."

You band guys. Just gotta zaggerate everyting doncha?
But I gotta give it to ya. You got a HUGE pair for posting that pic 'o fancy pants. The hair, the pants, the sleevless shirt, it's kind of "Ziggy on the edge of grunge". :D

Hehe, we once got referred to as 'glam-punk', if memory serves.

And the watermelon part was the me of today with my 44" waist trying to squeeze into those pants, so I wasn't exactly braggin'. Imagine a beluga whale trying to do a swan dive into a pet store aquarium. ;)

PS -- hey Jay, wanna start a 3-piece blues band? I have the perfect name.... :D
