I actually can't decide, so I have to give my top three:

Stefan Rowley - my first supporting love interest :) He's so complex (layered like an onion) - mysterious and angry, troubled, protective, and ridiculously handsome. He'll probably never be published, but I love him all the same.

Then there's Corin Wilkins, my very lovable midshipman. Handsome and arrogant, judgmental, witty, and really fun to flirt with through my MC. If only he existed, I'd marry him in an instant.

Then there's Rosalie Clements, my favorite MC thus far. She's teetering on being outcast from society, has the sharpest tongue and comebacks I wish I could think of in real life, and struggles with reconciling two contradictory halves of her person. She makes constant mistakes and is quite the liar. Plus, she gets to hang out with five midshipmen, most of whom are pretty attractive.

Okay, I'm done blabbing. What characters are the cream of your crop and why?

My favorite is Medea, although I tend to like them all. She's mentally unstable and has a self-caused awful gory past which she tries fruitlessly to forget about. Far from perfect.

Oliver is my favorite - unstable - twitchy - angry as an older man, as a young man people described him as appearing taller than he really was and belonging everywhere he'd ever been. He makes a wonderful transition through the book. I loved watching him - all awkward and screwed up going through the paces to make right.
He was an absolute joy to write.
One of my favorite things about Oliver is his inability to smile. He goes through great pains to learn to smile again.

My favorite character is Marcus. He's a troubled guy who tries so hard not to be scared... almost to the point of madness. But he turns out okay in the end.

Dubious Pickles: Because he doesn't really have a clue how to be evil. He's a good man with an evil desire.

Sebastian: Because he learns. He never stops learning even though he's so clumsy in how he goes about learning.

Isobel in a short story I just had published: Because the whole time she thought she was weak there was something growing inside her. And because she was finally able to harness that something and take control of her life. Because she was brave enough to go off into an uncertain future.

Captain Magnanimous. Because his name is awesome. And he lives up to it. He's upright, decent, also an excellent Captain. (and in my head he looks and sounds like Ewan Mcgregor)

Arthur Davenport. He's 65ish, runs the bookstore Arcuturian Antiquarian on Colorado Boulevard in Old Pasadena. He is a walking encyclopedia of psychic and magic history. He is also a retired stage magician, and the reader learns he is a practicing warlock. He appears kind and helpful, but on the inside he is devious and will use cunning, misdirection, hypnotism and direct threats to get what he wants from the main character.

He resembles a college professor, wears and old-fashioned tuxedo to dinner, and resembles Donald Sutherland as he appears now.

(But try to forget all those details when Ghost Machine comes out.)

Asher (From Sublime.) He's totally afraid of responsibility, which is very inconvenient considering he might be a prophet.

Dubious Pickles? Seriously? That's my favorite character too. Any relation to Mealy Potatoes?

How can I choose a favorite character? That's like choosing a favorite child!

I'll go with Akira. He's the black sheep in a dynastic political family, and he's helping overthrow the government his family helps to run. Partly for political reasons and partly for family reasons. He's a confused boy who dresses in black all the time. I love him to death.

Gabriel Shaw, attractive, selfrighteous and wholly convinced that what it is that he is doing is right. It doesn't matter if others might consider it to be selfish and dastardly, in his mind it's all for the best and for the benefit of those he affects.

I wish I felt as secure in my abilities as a writer, as he does in his perverse "calling".

Api, a stubborn little black-capped chickadee. Was going to leave him out of my fantasy, but I'm glad I didn't.

For real. His name is slightly different, but he was given that name by the locals. It's a play on his real name...one that mostly everybody in the story forgets.

I reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally have a hard time picking. REALLY. This is like asking a mother which child she loves the most.

I guess... agh! Okay, I guess I love Samuel the most. As in, if he were a real person I'd want to give him a big squeezy hug. He's small, kind of pathetic, has a very wry sense of humor, and a big heart.

Do you mean like characters from Books or TV shows.

The MC that carries all the books, Ikarias Half-Dragon is fascinating and I'm always learning more about her.

2nd place fascinations:

Book 1--I've a rough, sleek, unflappable Prime Assassin, Chaenz who holds up even while going mad and after she's dead.

Book 2--Ravager, demon monarch who changes sex & shape, and is so convinced that It'll win, no matter what.

Book 3--Malakite, heir to the throne, instigator of her father's assasination, going quietly--or not so quietly mad.

William McFall. Because he does what most people wonder about doing but never do for some reason. He does really eccentric things. For example, walking, not on the dirt paths that cross green hills, but actually walking on the green hills and leaving the dirt path behind.

I always find secondary characters more interesting than the main characters. From cartoons to stories where you have groups. And I tried to make my main character, "be" a secondary character. To have the attributes that would make me like him like a secondary character. But then McFall showed up and he's become my favourite. I can go crazy with him and it'll look alright.

I like the current character I am working on. He is a gift bag... so for now I have named him Gift Bag. But since he has a tear... I am thinking of Rip.... maybe.
(Yes.. it is a children's book.)

Renee James-Afueluki, she's a kick-ass F.B.I. agent with a serious chip on her shoulder. She does what she wants and isn't apologetic, everything I'm NOT!

I would have to say Varthikes. He's a dragon who's curious about the world around him and about what lies beyond it. For this reason, others among his kind think he's odd.

I also like Dylan March, who is a rogue. Somewhat like Han Solo.

Writers seem to go all googly moogly over self doubting angsty men.

Quite strange. My fave mains are, and will be for quite a while, the inseparable best buddies/ madly in love with eachother duo: James Leonite Junior and Pixel A-3.

They not only save the human race and Earth from destruction by giant space lizards, but also are incredibly cute together.

Mine, at the moment, is Tiffany Langley. She's funny and snarky inside, but outside she comes off as just funny and witty--it's great to see how much people don't get about her.

Hard decision. Think if I absolutely had to choose...
Janus, in the someday to be rewritten WIP, since he was just such fun, wicked sense of humour, though I think if I met him for real I'd want to kill him after a while.
I love my MC in my current fantasy as well, my Edmund, because for all his arrogance and bitterness, he has a good heart and shows it from time to time despite his best efforts.
