I recently found a site calling for sci-fi, Universe Pathways, a Greek publication that comes out six times a year (in Greece), with an English edition twice a year in the US (published through Lulu). They are calling for submissions from writers around the world. Unfortunately, from what I found out, they don't pay, and don't even provide complimentary copies. Such a shame. Universe Pathways looks to be a thick book, some issues over three hundred pages, with a variety of authors, subjects, and features. But no payment for your stories??? Has anyone heard any more about this outfit?

Heard of them certainly.
I've been published once in Greek translation in Ennea, which is the Friday supplement of one of the national newspapers.

A fine gentleman by the name of Doug Smith keeps a database of foreign markets for SF/F which will take submissions in English

I don't think there is anything underhand here. They after all have to do the translation and bear the cost.
Think of Universe Pathways as a secondary publication venue for your already published work.

Thanks, everyone,
I did get a nice note from Doug Smith, and have submitted two stories to Universe Pathways. Both are previously published works that could use a new home, so we'll see.
