Hi all

I've been a member for a couple of weeks but have yet to get very involved.

I like what I've seen so far - it's definitely the United Nations of writer's forums!

Worth mentioning as well, the fact that I recieved two birthday greetings last week from T42 and Jenna herself (cheers guys!) which I think were lovely gestures. I'd only registered the week before! It just shows what kind of community we've got here.

Joining a new forum always seems daunting at first but I look forward to contributing more as I find my feet and get to know what's what, what's where and indeed why? Why not? That too...

Rob-rite ;)

Welcome, Rob-rite!

Yes, we're a nice bunch, but a little wacky. Don't let that bother you!

I'd just like to thank you all for the warm, warm welcome. I'm sitting here now, misty-eyed but then again I was up late last night. That explains it!

Cheers

Rob-rite :)

Glad you found us, Robrite...perhaps you can explain Three Seven's Sunday thread of a couple weeks ago.

I STILL don't know what the heck he was getting up at 2 AM for....

Yes, indeed it was Formula 1. I didn't get to see it though, I had some drying paint that needed watching. Used to watch it, until it became sooooo predictable.
Mind, I'm saying that but the usual winner...er...Daniel sock-maker didn't even finish.
I might start watching again!

Rob, I almost wished happy birthday to "you and your magnificent buttocks," but didn't want to scare you off. ("What kind of pervs am I dealing with here?!") Great first post.

Very glad to have you onboard.

Ah, but you see, I've created a rod for my own back now. It started as a silly joke but now I'm racking my brains trying to write a story that actually DOES finish with those words! Do you think I should start a new thread?
In no more than 400 words...etc!

Ah well, you see we're co-writing a book about Romulus and Remus entitled 'The Seven Hills of Rome' and our early notes concern the topography of said hills and how some of them seem to rise up from the surounding landscape " ...like ... magnificent buttocks."
This observation isn't new as the similarity was first noted in 102 BC by a Roman centurian named Gluteus Maximus ...

And what about his little brother, Gluteus Minimus?

BTW, welcome to AW!

Hi Jane

Well, there is some dispute over his existence. He's been mentioned in several accounts, described as being a bit of an *** ...
