Sorry if this has been asked before, I didn't know what to search.

On some forums I notice when I click bold, or colors, they show up right away. On other forums, the VB codes with the brackets [] show up. I love having the changes occur right at the moment, and it's a little frustrating to see the brackets at other times.

Is there anything that could be done to make the formatting changes instant on all forums? Or am I doing something wrong? I'm confused. I just know I like to change colors when I comment on critique, and it makes it easier.

If you're doing a quick post, you get the brackets around the HTML code.

If you're doing a quote, you get the WYSIWYG.

Hope that helps.

It also depends on which browser you are using. On Opera, you get the brackets no matter what.

AND more than anything, it depends on your personal settings for the forum. In this one, you can have WYSIWYG or bare nekkid code or something in between. Check your profile settings! Go to the "User Control Panel" and click on "Edit Options." Go way down to the bottom, "Miscellaneous Options - Message Editor Interface" and pick your poison from the little drop-down.

It has little to do with your browser, except that if you spoof your browser's User Agent String (i.e. make it claim to be IE when it is something very different) the WYSIWYG doesn't work well.

For any God's sake, don't ever paste anywhere from Word and expect to get exactly what you had.
