Ok, I received fifty dollars worth of gift cards to Barnes & Noble and was trying to think of books that I've been not only meaning to read or wish I owned. So, in the interest of conversation, as well as giving my advice; If you had fifty free dollars to spend at the book store, what titles would you pick up? What titles would you encourage someone else to get? For arguments sake, lets say that most paperbacks are between five and ten dollars and hardbacks from ten to twenty.
My list to someone else would be:
The Catcher in the Rye - JD Salinger
Wuthering Heights - Emily Bronte
King Lear - Shakespeare
The Vampire Lestat - Anne Rice
The Great and Secret Show - Clive Barker
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas - Hunter S Thompson
The Dark Tower Series (3) - Steven King
On a Pale Horse - Piers Anthony
