Okay, totally blanking here. (This is really sad because I played basketball for like 5 years...) WHAT do you call "half-time" in basketball? You know, after the second quarter there's a bit longer break, right? Also, anyone know if there's an official time for how long that break is?

Jo, it's called "halftime" and it's 15 minutes. NBA Web site will verify this as well.

At least it's not like ice hockey, where you have two half-times, one between the first half and the second half, and another between the second half and the third half.

That's funny.
My daughter plays basketball on a youth team, and I sometimes take her to college games. I played way back in high school, too. The rules have changed alot since then.

That would be the 1st and 2nd intermission between periods. :)
I'm assuming that was tongue-in-cheek?

Halftime may be shorter if you're talking NCAA, high school or younger.
