I will be doing a query letter soon.

I have a complete manuscript that I continue to polish.

In my mind at least I have both a second and third work to complete the full story arch. I have not started writing the second or the third work. I have something of an outline for 2 and the basic premise for 3.

When I put the query letter together, should I bring up that this is the first of a three part story?

This question has been asked often and given a variety of replies- if the other works are not completed and your book can stand alone many (including me) say don't mention it. If the other works are completed it could be worth a mention. If an agent does not love the premise of your first one - mentioning the series will not make them want it...

Maprilyn could probably answer this better as she just sold a series -
