Satisfy or Fulfill?

What word is better in the following sentence, satisfy or fulfill?

"He needed to fulfill his every sexual desire."
"He needed to satisfy his every sexual desire."

HELP!!

With desire, I'm inclined to use satisfy. I think fulfill goes better with hopes, dreams, fantasies.

But that might just be me. Neither version is wrong. This is one where it could come down to the rhythm and sound of the words--two syllables vs. three, alliteration (satisfy sexual desire), etc.

I'm with FG that "satisfy" sounds better.

When you've worked out a few scenes, post them here so we can see exactly how he satisfied those needs. :Thumbs:

Satisfy a need, fulfill a promise. Satisfy fills a hole, fulfill caps a goal. They overlap, but the viewpoint differs. Yes, how does he... :)
