Argh! Problem here!
You are going to have to give us more information before we can help.
And it is very tricky. This is religion and the passions involved can still start a riot!
Your GG was in Yorkshire. Which Riding? Which town, city or village? Dates?
Chapel was not and never was the dreadful popish, papist wickedly idolatrous Church of England (Anglican Church)
Chapel in Yorkshire could have been Methodist, Wesleyan, Congregationalist, Presbyterian (though rare in Yorkshire) Baptist, and any of many smaller sub sects all who believed in the communion service as a memorial service and that having a cross, stained glass, a silver chalice etc were mortal sins!
Chapel was often working class and strong on guilt and remorse and the hell to come.
BUT
This so depends exactly on which chapel and where and when. And who the minister was and where trained.
Methodists, for example, split into the wealthy, the middle classes and the working class, and also how much John Wesley affected the minister and congregation!
