Should the parenthetical be:

(over the loudspeaker)

OR

(filtered, V.O.)

To me, the first one is more informative, but the second one seems less likely to get flack. Thoughts? Thanks again, I know I'm full of questions today.

(FILTERED) is a traditional character extension that implies electronic distortion, but it seems to have been superseded by (V.O.) because voice over covers everything that has to be recorded in a sound studio and dubbed onto the soundtrack. There's no need for both extensions together, I'd go with MALE ANNOUNCER (V.O.) or whatever fits.
