I just had a problem with Mobipocket & Vista, too! Grrrrr! Thanks, Mollyluna, for posting the instructions for Adobe.

I've never had a problem downloading anything from eHarlequin or Mobipocket, so this is weird. I contacted their customer support so hopefully they can get it figured out. Today's title is a Blaze and I like that line so I'm crossing my fingers this one works!

Excellent! I'll definitely keep on it, then. I just love the idea of free Harlequins, even if they're duds. I know it sounds weird, but what can I say?

Happy Holidays to you, too!

I know what you mean! Stories that really didn't catch my eye before I'm still grabbing to try them out just to see how they're written.

I must admit though that I'm eagerly waiting for the last two because I love the last Intrigue book I bought and I'm itching to dive into a Nocturne! :)

I'm totally waiting for those two. I have never read most of these lines, but I definitely want to check out the Intrigue line. I loved the Nocturne book I read and need more LOL Making the move to ebook was an excellent idea for Harlequin.

Thanks for sharing this! I want to see if I'm able to get any of these forms onto my Treo phone, which has an ebook reader on it.

I never heard of Treo--sounds interesting!

I  Palm Treo!

OK so I don't actually have one, but my friend does, and I drool every time I see it. I have the puny Z22, which I actually love for reading, but I'm kind of a techno-geek and want MORE. I'm holding out for the iPod Nano Touch :D Reading straight from a computer screen does sort of hurt, so I definitely prefer reading ebooks on a hand held device.

And Mollyluna, I used to be an ebook snob. I wouldn't touch them, no matter what because I was a die-hard paper girl. But over the last year I've changed that quite a bit, mostly because buying ebooks became cheaper and I could toss 20+ "books" in my purse at a time. I can read at night when my husband sleeps because the Palm is backlit, and I can even change the colors to make it easier on my eyes. And I have extra shelf space that I can devote to my favorite books. (P.S. with the Treo, you can read your books AND get the cute messages from the husband ;))

Don't get me wrong, though. When one of my favorite authors puts out a book, I'm buying it in hard cover. I've actually purchased books in ebook form, and liked them so much I've gone to the store to get them in HC. There is definitely something about holding a 1st ed. HC book in your hands when it comes to your favorite books!

I love my Treo. My husband was just saying today, "You know, you're due for a new phone if you want one."

And I'm like, "I LOVE THIS phone!" In other words, I don't want a new one until this one croaks. But then, I'm sort of resistant to change anyway. <G>

What I like about this phone is that a techno-moron like myself can actually USE it. <G> I love the little icons that make it look just like my computer, so I can figure things out. I love that it has a little keyboard on it, so I can type text messages without pressing buttons three times to pick the letter I want. I can actually update my address book, and do all sorts of cool stuff on it. :) All by myself. LOL.

I'm not running Windows on it.

The bummer is, I bought the ebooks in Adobe form, and while my husband was able to transfer them to a little chip to go in phone, we can't seem to figure out how to access them. <sigh> It supposedly has Adobe on it, and I can press an Adobe icon, but I can't see the books. Hubby is a techno guru, and even he got frustrated with it after a while. (Getting me able to read books on my phone isn't a top priority around here right now. LOL!) My dh said that if I was running Windows, he could probably get it to work, bingo bango, no problem. <sigh>

The eReader is eReader. I don't know that any of the other formats that eHarlequin offers would be more compatible. Maybe I should try to buy these freebies in all the formats and see what happens. :)

Susan, I'm so jealous! LOL Mine doesn't accept a card, but my old Palm Zire71 (may it rest in peace) had a card and sometimes I had to access the card itself for the files. It's been so long since I've had it that I couldn't walk you through it, but see if that works.

I've used Adobe Reader, eReader, and MobiPocket on my Palm and I like them all. I usually just shop around for the best bargain. As far as the Mobipocket troubles I had downloading from Harlequin, they gave me a list of instructions to follow that I'm pretty sure are the same ones NASA uses to make the shuttle take off :Headbang: But I'll give them a whirl at some point. When I download my book today I'm going to try MS Reader and see if that gives me better luck. I have NEVER had a problem downloading anything from Harlequin before, this is just strange!

ETA: I just downloaded today's book using Microsoft eReader and it worked! I have to say this display is really nice and clear. You can adjust the font size to your liking, but my only complaint is that you can't change the background/font colors. I like a black background with purple font because it's really easy on my eyes. If anyone knows if there's a way to change this, can you post it, please? Anyway, SUCCESS!!!

"Our Rebel Lord"--she lost me on page 12 when she went from colloquial 18th century language to 21st century language when the dialogue switched people. Maybe I'm missing something, but that ended my suspension of disbelief. :(

Ooh! I'll have to watch for that. I'm writing a part historical right now and I dloaded that one in particular because I never read one before. Now I'll have to keep an eye out for the change to see what NOT to do!

Same here. I thought I'd never get into ebooks because they're a chore to read on the computer. But Palms make it so much easier and like you said, it's fun to change the font and the lighting. I never thought I'd see the day, but I read faster and easier on the palm than a paperback. Ack!

Still, if I really enjoy an ebook I'll buy it in paperback format (or Hardcover) so I can have the real tangible thing. Old habits still die hard. ;-)

I have a confession: I love to change the colors too. Not just because it's easier on the eyes, but yeah, it's kinda fun :D Also, if you're on the geeky-reader side like I am, I can hi-lite certain passages and take notes, which is way cool.

Confession in the second: I really want the eBookwise eReader. I saw one in the Borders store recently, and I was BLOWN AWAY by how incredible it looks in person. Wow. Just wow. I don't know if you can play with colors or not, but the graphics are so clear it looks like a real book page. Anyone actually use one yet? What do you think?

Cathy Mann is AWESOME!

She writes some really yummy, yummy heroes. Her husband is a flyboy, and she's written some incredible flyboy stories.

Cathy Mann rocks. <G>

Oooh! That does sound yummy! Can't wait to check those out. I love that Harelquin put their backlist up in ebook. I've found some great titles looking back through them, especially via the themed bundles.

My personal favorite Cathy Mann flyboy hero is Grayson. I'm pretty sure his name is in the title, so if you go looking though her backlist, check that one out. :) (I can't seem to find my stack of Cathy Mann books at the moment, or I'd tell you myself. <G>)

Ok, BlackViolet, here's your nocturne moment. Two books in one. The first one starts getting good around page 12. Wyoming? Vampires in Wyoming? lol. I've heard everything now. Haven't checked out the second one yet.

:e2arms:

:snoopy: YES!!! :snoopy:

Wyoming, you say? Heh. I don't live too far from there. Might have to go check it out for myself ;) Is it just me or does that chick on the cover look COLD? Why isn't he offering her his jacket? Just sayin'

ETA: Have you seen Knocked Up? If so, remember the website he started that lists all the times in movies when things "got good?" Your heads up above reminded me of that. OK I'm going to go grow up now.

BlackViolet,

Yep, saw it. Loved it. Of course, you have to get through so much of the idiot guy stuff at the beginning, but it was worth sticking through it. I thought that website was soooooo stupid. Then here I am pointing out the pages... lol. Gotta laugh. I did NOT like the second novel in the nocturne book--very disappointing. The first was okay. Not my cup of tea. I ended up skimming, which I only do when I really want an ending but hate the writing. Please tell me that you at least enjoyed it. You deserve that after letting everyone know about the giveaway. I spent a summer in Wyoming with my uncle--very different from what was described in the book. I wonder if the author's ever been there. Maybe it's just different for non-natives.

There's still one left.... :e2fish:
My husband and I laughed SO MUCH during that movie. The website was stupid, but it was hilarious. I wonder if anyone would consider something like that for a romance novel website? Yeah, probably not

I haven't had a chance to read ANY of the books yet! *sigh* Hopefully next week when the kiddos go back to school.

Wyoming is kind of weird. Not saying that in a rude way, but it has so many variables, depending on where you're visiting. I love the northern areas of the state like Yellowstone, Thermopolis, and Jackson--they're absolutely stunning. The southern region is a lot different. Very "cowboy," I'd say. Was the hero a cowboy vampire? I just have to ask!

ETA: I just tried to download the Intrigue title for today and it wouldn't let me use the code because it said I've already used it. Which I have not! Did anyone else have this problem? I was so looking forward to reading my first Intrigue, dang it!

Oh DUH DUH DUH!!! I can be so dense sometimes. I tried to download it a day EARLY, so of COURSE it's not going to work. I'm high on laptop fumes or something, I swear. I didn't even partake in New Year's cheer, if you know what I mean ;)

To be honest, I'm not really into cowboys and am somewhat jaded on vamps, but what the hell? I'll give it a try, and then I'll come back and let you know. I just hope the Intrigue doesn't get too cowboy on me!
