Hey all you historicals - I've got a question/suggestion for everyone to mull. Western got split off from historical about a year ago - the share your work western forum is having some lagging problems. Is there any interest in picking one of the "challenge topics" from their thread in the western SYW and any of us who have a mind to write a short western in January? It'd be totally different for us and might give them the needed shot in the arm. Thoughts? Puma

That actually sounds like a fun idea. I'll have to see how the WIP is going, though. If I didn't have so much more to do on that, I'd jump right in here.

I'm going to have to give the same answer as c.e. - it sounds like a blast, but right now my WIP's the priority.

Still, with all the traveling I'll be doing between now and mid-January (I can never seem to work on my WIP when on the road), it might be a nice distraction.

I have to echo c.e. and Doogs.

The time I am able to spend at the computer is 99% devoted to MY writing. I'm often amazed how other writers are able to contribute so much to AW's forums.

Short challenge in western for January (I posted it last night). Topic is Jump (off a building, over a canyon, onto a horse, etc.) 500 words or less. Anyone interested in joining in, see the thread in western SYW. Puma

It's not a genre I normally read, but the challenge topic made a scene spring to mind, so I've posted one for you.

Thanks, Bardskye - I'm heading up to read it now. Puma
