I'm thrilled to say that my editor accepted the third book in the HELL series! HOTTER THAN HELL will hit the shelves in August 2008.
This one's different in two important ways. First, it's the incubus Daunuan's book. I have to say, writing in first person as an evil male demon with sex on the brain and yet is sympathetic to readers was a challenge! But once I found Daun's voice, boom. It was like magic. And he wouldn't shut up. The first two books were about 80,000 words. This one's almost 98,000.
The second thing? This is a biggun: there is no traditional HEA.
I'm saying this loud and clear: there is NO traditional HEA. Yes, the book does end happily, with true love found for both the hero and the heroine. But it's definitely not something traditional. Head's up. This one, no matter what it is labeled and where it is shelved, is really a dark paranormal love story.
But you know what? It was the right ending for the book. And damn if this isn't the best book I've written to date. I'm really proud of this one.
HOTTER THAN HELL, coming August 2008, from Kensington/Zebra Books. Love isn't just a four-letter word. Heh.
(But meanwhile, coming in April 2008 is ETERNAL LOVER, a paranormal romance anthology from Kensington Books, in which there is a HELL novella (um, hellvella?) that is absolutely, positively, a romance. I promise.)
