I have to hustle back home this coming weekend. My son is getting baptized.

This is one of my prodigals who has returned to his father's house in both senses of the word. He put us through hell in his teenage years. (Unfortunately, that was far from the only thing going on for us at that time.) The Lord is restoring the years eaten by locusts and it is very sweet.

Sometimes I think the Lord allows the devil to dig deep holes in our lives, just so he can fill us that much more.

Someone please remind me not to wear any mascara to church that night...

And you'd think waterproof mascara could withstand tears, but you're right -- panda eyes -- definitely leave off the mascara. Happy celebration!

I know how you feel. Our rebellious daughter, a runaway at 16, revealed a few months ago that she and her husband had joined a church. We've been praying for this for...oh let's see, 18 years. God's ways are not our ways.
