I entered a contest, and THEN found two typos

No, if they love the script they will overlook it. If they don't you'd just be in the "pass" pile with the rest of us either way. :)

No need to kill yourself, but I'd certainly cut off one of my own fingers as punishment, if I made such an unpardonable error.

Oh, definitely don't beat yourself up! Your script should stand despite typos. Which contest was it?

I actually have a question about their submission process.

Their deadline was eysterday, and I submitted yesterday via their e-mail address for submissions. But then I did NOT get a "thank you for submitting" kind of a confirmation e-mail. Wasn't I supposed to get one of those? Did YOU get one of those?

Hey! Ya, I got a thank you for submitting. It didn't come through until about 3 am. You should send them an email and ask if they got it. That's what I did because my first email bounced back. They answered quickly and were really nice.

I submitted my screenplay to a contest, and right after I pressed the send button, I realized I had one of my characters walking into the room with "the gate of a Greek Goddess." Still a powerful image, I think...

I did PayPal. That could definitely be it!

Yeah--turns out to be the case. I sent an e-mail inquirey to them last night, and just now I got an answer saying they did indeed get ym script on Friday (in time! whew!) and that the official thank you e-mail will get sent only after they get my snail mail check.

In response to your original post, it's all a learning curve - I bet next time you submit some of your work, you'll go over it with a super-fine-toothed comb!

I get my teenage daughter to cast her eye over my stuff before I submit it - it's amazing how much stuff I miss (the downside is she enjoys gloating about it!)

Good luck with the contest!
