Hi All,

So, I got a request for my full manuscript from an amazing well-known agent. They asked me to email it to them. I did. They couldn't open the document and asked me to send it them in another format. I did.

Now they didn't respond that they had received it, and so I sent a follow-up email (a week later) making sure they had gotten the manuscript in the new format. It's been a month, and I'm still unsure of whether they received it or not.

Should I follow up again or just assume that they have it? I'm just worried that my book got lost in Internet limbo.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I would call.

If it's a tremendous agent, then you don't want to miss this opportunity, clearly. Chances are a no-response means they received it, but the agent might've just got bogged down with other stuff and forgot that he/she didn't originally receive the manuscript.

too aggressive?

Hi Will,

Thanks for the response! I've always heard that agents are irritated by phone calls. I don't want them to see me as a pesky author. Is there anyway to call and not sound that way? I want to call, but (gulp) and worried.

Thanks!

When an agent asks for the full and there's a problem or question it is perfectly fine to call- a quick professional call (usually it's an assistant) is no problem- I did this and it wasn't considered an issue at all-

Thanks all for the respond. I called and left a message with their assistant, so we'll see if I hear anything back. I hope I do!

Thanks again,

Nancy
