Piers Anthony reports in his latest update that EC has stopped accepting historicals and is purging them from their site. This is NOT TRUE.

I have a statement from Raelene Gorlinsky on my blog about this:

Just FYI, in case anyone saw it and thought it wasn't worth subbing historical erotic romance to EC. It is.

Piers Anthony has lied to us? Damn, how can we ever trust him again?

Maryn, thanking you for the heads-up

Well to be fair to Piers, LOL, I am fairly certain someone told him this information. He doesn't make it up. That being said I am two of the recently contracted historicals, so obviously I was glad to hear it wasn't true

maybe someone should drop him an email with the correct info?

I'm fairly sure Raelene's announcement concerning his website alluded to the fact they asked him to remove the incorrect info.

That being said, I checked today and it still says EC is not taking historicals and is removing them from their list.

Yes, I'm well aware of that. :) But I was surprised and disappointed he didn't double-check when it came to something like submission requirements.

And yes, Raelene contacted him about this on the 5th.

*shrug* I was just trying to get the word out.

(Sorry if I seem touchy. Final Line Edits often do that to me.)

No problem. I wasn't questioning you at all. I'm sure everyone appreciates your getting the word out.

And I agree he should have double checked and certainly by now he could have made the correction. Must be busy with his own edits! ;)

I finally got EC's author pdf to open on my pc-I am thinking of taking the gamble on my 75k Finished erotica. (yay!) Everyone is saying to try higher first, even though I was content to submit with Loose Id, Liquid Silver, and Cobblestone. I have to stay, EC's contract really SCARES me:

Length of grant of publishing rights: Full Term of copyright, Includes digital, print, audio, translation, and second/subsidiary rights

WHAT? I mean I know they are supposed to be *the* place, but how is that justified in giving up all rights for life- and then some?
