Well, I know the least about my ending, unlike her. I don't think that's a bad thing. The important thing to know, instead, is what she said about "where you're going". Just a general sense is enough. As you write, place in things that you think will be useful later on in that "fuzzy" end. Then, when you get to the end, you will have a much clearer idea about the beginning, ironically enough, and it is usually that which you will finish (or "re-finish") last.

i guess it just depends on the writing, but i found it interesting, especially coming from someone with about a gazillion books out.

i guess i have an interesting idea and write towards it without knowing exactly where it'll end up.

I think I write blindly: I don't know where I'll go or how everything will end up until somewhere in the middle I get a spark. I continue to write the middle so everything will align with my "spark". If things aren't going the way I like it maybe I'll somehow discover an alternate ending. I guess you can say I'm the unconventional sort of writer. I have my own ways of doing things. But as long as I reach my goal I'm good. Anyway, people have their own ways of writing a novel. What Meg Cabot says can surely help other people, but I'd have to say it mostly depends on the writer's preferences. But hey, if your wayall works out in the end, then you must be doin something right!

I was starting to suspect there was a LOLcats cameo coming up. There was that repeated thing about getting to "teh end."

But this was inspirational, they should have had her in one of the NaNoWriMo podcast thingies. Maybe I would have finished my novel if I'd seen this earlier.

And she's got a webpage on harpercollins.com, how neat is that?;) http://harpercollins.com/megcabot
